NEW DELHI: In a big push to revive the economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a Rs 20 lakh crore package, which combined the government's recent announcements on supporting key sectors as also measures rolled out by the Reserve Bank of India. In a televised address to the nation, the PM said the details about fourth phase of the lockdown will be made known before May 18, adding it will be different from the earlier phases. A total of 70,756 coronavirus cases and 2,293 deaths have been reported across the country.

In his fifth address to the nation on Covid-19 pandemic, PM Modi said the goal of the country will be to become self-reliant, and identified economy and infrastructure as key drivers for it.
India can now do one lakh Covid-19 tests per day, said Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan while interacting with senior officials of various districts of Jammu and Kashmir over coronavirus via video-conferencing. The minister also said that the country's Covid-19 mortality rate is one of the lowest in the world with 3.2 per cent.
The ICMR announced that it is conducting a community-based sero-survey to estimate the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Indian population.
PM Modi approved ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the 16 migrant labourers who were run over by a goods train in Maharashtra's Aurangabad on May 8.
Filling up of a detailed questionnaire related to COVID-19, carrying no cabin baggage, using Aarogya Setu app and reaching airport at least two hours before a flight departure are among the suggested requirements for air passengers during the initial phase after resumption of commercial flights.
A total of 6,037 Indians have been flown back to India in 31 inbound flights operated by Air India and Air India Express under Vande Bharat Mission in 5 days beginning from May 7, the ministry of civil aviation said.

Maharashtra: The state reported 1,026 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 24,427, while the death toll rose to 921.
UP: Another Covid-19 patient died while 41 new cases were reported from Uttar Pradesh as the total number of fatalities due to the pandemic rose to 81 and the state's coronavirus tally reached 3,614.
Kerala: As the flow of Keralites returning home from other countries and states continued, five people, including four who came from abroad, tested positive for Covid-19 in the state, talking the total number of those under treatment to 32.
Rajasthan: Rajasthan reported 68 new coronavirus cases taking the total positive cases to 4,056 in the state.
Chandigarh: A 3-month-old baby girl is among six people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Chandigarh, pushing the total in the Union territory to 187.
Bihar: As many as 34 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Bihar, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 801.
West Bengal: A total of 110 new cases of Covid-19 and 8 deaths were reported in West Bengal, taking the total number of active cases to 1,363 in the state.
Delhi: 13 deaths and 406 more Covid-19 cases have been reported from the national capital in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the national capital stands at 7,639, including 86 deaths.
Gujarat: Gujarat reported 362 new Covid-19 cases and 24 deaths, taking the total case count to 8,904 and the fatalities to 537.
Jharkhand: 7 more Covid-19 cases reported in Jharkhand - 6 from Hazaribagh and 1 from Ranchi. The total number of positive cases in the state rises to 172.
Tamil Nadu: Eight people with co-morbid conditions died of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu and as many as 716 fresh coronavirus cases were reported, pushing the tally to 8,718 in the state.
J&K: 55 more Covid-19 cases reported in Jammu & Kashmir - 13 from Jammu division & 42 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of cases in the Union territory to 934.
Himachal Pradesh: With two more positive cases being reported from the Hamirpur district, the Covid-19 count reached 64 in Himachal Pradesh.
Punjab: A 32-year-old man infected with coronavirus died in Punjab as the state reported 37 new cases, 14 of them railway police personnel. So far, the state has reported 1,914 virus cases.
Uttarakhand: One new positive case of Covid-19 has been reported from Nainital. The total positive cases have risen to 69 in the state.
Haryana: Fresh coronavirus cases continued to be reported from Haryana's NCR districts, with 31 new infections out of 50 being recorded from Gurgaon and Faridabad. The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has now risen to 780.
Madhya Pradesh: The number of coronavirus cases in Madhya Pradesh shot up to 3,986 as 201 more people were found infected by the disease in the last 24 hours, while the death toll rose to 225.
Odisha: Thirty-one Covid-19 infected persons in Odisha were declared cured of the highly infectious disease, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 116.
Karnataka: A day after witnessing a dip, Karnataka recorded a new all-time single-day high of 63 new Covid-19 cases, most of them returnees to the state from other parts of the country, as the total reached 925.
Andhra Pradesh: As many as 33 new cases were reported across Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state tally to 2,051.
