Gurugram municipal corporation takes over sanitation work at 5 colonies

GURUGRAM: MCG on Monday took over the sanitation work of five private colonies — DLF-1, 2, 3, Sector 29 and South City-2. The tender for the work has been allotted to a private company.
MCG has also asked the firm —Bimlraj outsourcing pvt ltd. — to buy personal protective equipment (PPE) for the workers to be deployed in these private colonies.

The monthly expenditure, estimated by MCG, would be Rs 62.51 lakh (including Rs 44,750 for PPE) for DLF-1, 2, 3 and Sector 29 and for South City-2 it would be Rs 23.42 lakh (Rs 17,875 for PPE).
According to the work order, the firm has been asked to provide 106 safai karamcharis at DLF-1, 82 workers at DLF-2, 80 at DLF-3, 90 workers for Sector 29 and 50 workers for South City-2. “A total of 49 carts and 13 tractor trollies are required for DLF-1, 2, 3 and Sector 29 and for South City-2 two tractor trollies and 10 carts are required,” the order reads.
“We have taken over the sanitation work of the five private colonies. The work has been outsourced to a private firm. Till now the developers were handling the sanitation work of their colonies,” an official said. MCG has taken over some sector roads for sanitation. The stretches include Sohna Road to Tikri Chowk; Vega School to Park View City on Sohna Road and Fazilpur Pulia to G D Goenka School on Sohna Road.
