Hotels get draft guidelines on post Covid-19 protocols

NEW DELHI: The tourism ministry has floated draft guidelines on post Covid-19 protocols for hotels and other accommodation units to ensure social distancing and adequate safety measures, and has sought feedback from various stakeholders.

Industry associations like Hotel Association of India (HAI), Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) have tabled these and asked for feedback.

A tourism ministry official familiar with the matter said the ministry has created these draft guidelines based on inputs from the health ministry and other agencies and it will release the final protocols very soon after consultations with the industry.

ET has seen a copy of the draft guidelines.

Industry officials said they are providing feedback to the ministry. The draft seeks to minimise all possible touch points between a staff and guest.
