Five positive Covid-19 cases detected in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Five new positive cases of coronavirus were detected in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday of which three new positive cases were from Kangra district, two positive cases were from Hamirpur district. With this now total count of positive cases so far has increased to 64 while number of active cases have increased to 23.
Three persons tested positive in Kangra district include a 40-years-old from Kulthi village of the district who had returned in a taxi from Jalandhar on Sunday and his sample was taken on Monday. Another person tested positive is 62-years-old male from Banuri in Palampur while a police head constable from Panchrukhi has also been tested positive.
A 50-years-old person from Bajhrol and 30-years-old person from Palbhu in Hamirpur district have been tested positive and they had returned in same taxi from Delhi on April 30 and on Saturday their samples were taken for testing.
On Monday only a 63-years-old person from Choundha village of Daultapur area was tested positive and he had returned from Delhi on May 8. With fresh detection on Tuesday, now Kangra district has total 8 active cases of coronavirus, while Hamirpur has four positive cases.
Since last one week the state has reported 24 new positive cases of coronavirus and one of them died of renal failure. Of the total 64 positive cases of coronavirus detected so far, 35 positive cases have recovered, four cases have migrated out of state, two persons have died while 23 cases are active.
In the state six cases are from Chamba district, eight cases from Kangra district, four cases from Hamirpur district, two cases from Bilaspur district while one case each is from Una, Shimla and Mandi districts.
Till Monday, total 21628 persons were put under surveillance, of them 7345 persons have completed 28 days of quarantine and 14283 persons are under active surveillance. Total 11267 persons were tested for Covid-19.
