1,200 Mile Jaguar XJ220 Can Be Yours For A Tad Under Half A Million Dollars

The Jaguar XJ220 is the stuff of legend, but a low mileage example has gone up for auction on eBay.

Formerly part of a private collection, this 1994 XJ220 is in remarkable condition as it looks brand new. As you can see, the Le Mans Blue exterior is immaculate and there doesn’t appear to be even the slightest hint of fading or rust.

The same can be said of the interior as driver’s seat looks like it has never been sat on. There are no signs of wear and tear, and everything looks like it did nearly three decades ago.

The car’s excellent condition can be chalked up to the fact that it has only been driven 1,929 km (1,199 miles) since new. It’s also been well taken care of as even the stickers remain in perfect shape.

More importantly, the British supercar has a detailed service history and has already had its timing belt and fuel cell bladders replaced. Thanks to all of this, the seller says the XJ220 “delivers just as much of a trilling driving experience as when it was new!”

Speaking of driving, the car features a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 542 hp (405 kW / 550 PS) and 475 lb-ft (643 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a five-speed manual which enables the Jag to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than four seconds. While the car was never able to achieve its targeted top speed of 220 mph (354 km/h), it came close as one model hit 217 mph (349 km/h).

Bidding started at $489,770 (£399,407 / €451,403), but the car has a buy it now price of $495,900 (£404,406 / €457,053). That sounds pretty reasonable given the XJ220’s status and the fact that only 275 units were built. This particular model also comes with the car’s original books and tools as well as a host of extras such as a first aid kit, a press tour invitation and a copy of its ‘show and display’ exemption.
