Policemen held for 2018 murder

THREE Special Reserve Police (SRP) constables and a full-time constable were arrested for a 2018 murder on Monday afternoon.
Police said the four, who are all assigned to the Northern Division, were arrested by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau and Homicide Bureau of Investigations (Region II) after police received instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
They were arrested in relation to a police-involved shooting that happened two years ago in La Horquetta. The officers were originally thought to have acted in self-defence, but new evidence has suggested otherwise. Investigators said one of the SRPs had been on suspension for a year in relation to an assault.
