Representative imageNOIDA: Two more Covid-19 cases were reported in Noida on Sunday — the 80-year-old mother-in-law and 40-year-old brother-in-law of a patient from Sector 22 who had died on Friday.
“Of the 33 reports that came back on Sunday, two were positive — both residents of Sector 22. The district has 218 cases now, of which 81 are active,” said district surveillance officer Dr Sunil Dohare. Health department sources said another person, a patient at Kailash Hospital in Sector 27, had tested positive on Sunday evening and had been admitted to Sharda Hospital. However, official confirmation did not come in till the time of filing this report.
The district surveillance officer also clarified that a discrepancy in state and district data on Covid-19 cases had occurred because of “duplication of entry and wrong ID generation” on the state data platform. On Saturday, the state government data showed Noida had 103 cases while the district reported 100.
Seventeen people — 15 patients and two quarantined children — were discharged on Sunday, the highest single-day discharge in the district so far — all from Sharda Hospital. A CRPF jawan who was released, however, will be counted in the Delhi tally. The district has a recovery rate of 37.15% now, with 135 recovered patients.
“The quarantined children, aged two and four years old, were discharged. So far, 49 patients have been discharged from the hospital, seven have been referred to Apollo Delhi and 59 are undergoing treatment,” said Ajeet Kumar, joint registrar of Sharda Hospital.
