Stalin wishes Manmohan Singh speedy recovery, says his services are needed for country ‘at a time like this’

CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Monday wished former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery. Singh was admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi on Sunday evening after he complained of breathing difficulties.
“I wish former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery and wish him good health. At a time like this, Dr Singh’s services are needed for our country, and I hope he will be back in full health at the earliest,” Stalin tweeted.
The DMK president on Monday morning visited areas in North Chennai and distributed masks, hand sanitizers and other protective essentials to poor people to protect themselves from Covid-19.
In Harbour assembly constituency, Stalin conducted three self-respect marriages. At Raja Annamalai Mandram, he gave away rice and 15 other types of commodities to 70 priests and 60 teachers.
In Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, he distributed rice and other essential commodities to 160 families of barbers, who lost jobs due to the lockdown.
In Kolathur, he provided rice, blankets, steel plates, tumblers and more to 900 sanitary workers and their families. In Gomathipuram area, more than 400 daily construction workers and their families were given rice and other essentials. He also distributed protection masks and sanitizers to these families.
In GKM Colony, 340 nurses working in various hospitals were given blankets, fruit kits, rice and other commodities. At Ayanpuram police station, Stalin gave hand sanitizers, masks and soaps to cops.
