Thanks from Debe campus

THE EDITOR: I am one of the men quarantined at the UWI Debe campus. We are comfortable here, but I want to extend a special thank you to certain people who assisted in getting us back home.

They are Jada Loutoo of Newsday and Prior Beharry of AZP News, who told our story “ball by ball.” I also extend heartfelt thanks to attorneys Gerald Ramdeen and Umesh Maharaj for mainstreaming our plight and their persistence with the Government to repatriate us.

The journey seemed never-ending, nevertheless we are back on national soil. A special thanks to the nurses, medical staff and the regiment soldiers here at the Debe facility.

Thus far we have been treated well, as we know that most of the decisions made come from higher up and are dispensed to the medical staff here.

I thank them for volunteering their time away from their families to lend assistance to other families in this time of need.
