A 28-year-old man was found dead at home, an inquest heard today.

Nathan Lee Surgenor, of Cilcen, in Gwersyllt, Wrexham, was discovered shortly before 10pm on Sunday, May 3.

Opening an inquest at Ruthin County Hall today, coroner for North Wales east and central, John Gittins, said Mr Surgenor was formally identified by his family.

Mr Gittins said he was notified of Mr Surgenor’s death by North Wales Police, after it was reported the former data processing clerk had been found at home following an “apparent act of self harm.”

A postmortem examination was carried out, and Mr Gittins recorded a provisional cause of death as hanging, "pending toxicology".

He said the matter will now proceed to a full inquest, and adjourned the hearing until a later date.
