Representative imageBENGALURU: After North Bangalore Hospital was sealed on Saturday, another hospital in Hennur was shut down as a 56-year-old woman, who later tested positive for Covid-19, visited it before being referred to another hospital. She died on May 7 and her test results came out on Sunday.
She was first taken to Sakaria Hospital with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection, but was referred to another hospital. She was then admitted to North Bangalore Hospital where she died. The hospital sent a sample for testing to a lab in Hyderabad through an agency that wasn't authorised to transport it.
"Though she was not admitted in the first hospital, she spent two hours there and 37 primary contacts have been identified at both hospitals. This includes 15 doctors. The search for secondary contacts is on," said Dr Srinivas Gulur, district health officer, Bengaluru Urban.
The BBMP has included HBR Layout in the list of wards with containment zones.
