Today's headlines:

1. In another blow to the business rescue practitioners at SAA, the labour court ruled that their proposed retrenchment process at the airline was procedurally unfair. Retrenchment notices must be scrapped. Read more.

2. This morning, Vodacom reported a 9% increase in headline profit. In South Africa, sharp data price reductions led to a steady increase in data traffic over recent months.

3. The Reserve Bank bought R11.4 billion worth of government bonds during April, as part of its measures to introduce liquidity to the market. In March, the bank only bought R1 billion bonds. Read more.

4. Horse racing group Phumelela Gaming & Leisure, which filed for business rescue on Friday, will receive a cash injection from the Oppenheimer family, Business Day reports.

5. The struggling Denel can’t make payments to its employee pension fund or pay some of its tax bills, Reuters reports.
