The Jeep brand has several upcoming vehicles that could have grabbed attention in Detroit.
The redesigned Grand Cherokee, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, and a new three-row crossover are all on tap for 2021 releases. Each one is slated to be made in Detroit and would have generated headlines during the city's first summer show.
Another possibility was the performance-focused Ram 1500 Rebel TRX, which is expected to join the Hellcat family and give consumers major punch with 707 hp.
FCA has teased the idea of a performance pickup for years, and a Rebel TRX spotted in camouflage this year signals that the Ford F-150 Raptor is about to get new competition. Ram introduced a 575-hp Rebel TRX concept at the State Fair of Texas in 2016.
While FCA wouldn't reveal details on product plans for the Detroit show, a spokesman said the company was looking forward to executing plans and displays "both outside and inside" the convention hall.
