4,000 Indians brought back by flights, 5 lakh migrants went hometowns via trains: Home Ministry

Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry, Punya Salila Srivastava, on May 11 informed about the latest development on Centre’s Vande Bharat Mission under which government is bringing stranded citizens home from abroad. Briefing about the numbers, she said that around 4,000 Indians have been brought back by 23 flights under the mission. “Over 5 lakh migrant workers have been sent to their home states by 468 special trains. 101 special trains were run yesterday,” said Srivastava.
