New Delhi: Silver prices on Monday rose 0.57 per cent to Rs 43,539 per kg in futures trade as participants widened their bets on firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery gained Rs 246, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 43,539 per kg in 6,612 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for September delivery was trading higher by Rs 184, or 0.42 per cent, at Rs 43,998 per kg in 131 lots.

In the international market, silver was quoting 0.27 per cent higher at $15.82 per ounce in New York.

Gold
Gold futures on Monday fell 0.05 per cent to Rs 45,789 per 10 gram as participants offloaded their holdings following weak trend overseas.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold prices for June delivery fell by Rs 23, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 45,789 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 13,268 lots.

The yellow metal for August delivery declined by Rs 49, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 45,008 per 10 gram in 7,259 lots.

In New York, gold was trading 0.42 per cent down at $1,706.70 per ounce.
