Photo for representative purpose onlyBENGALURU: In the highest ever increase in cases in Karnataka in 12 hours, 53 patients have tested positive for Covid-19 by noon on Sunday.
Of the 53 cases, 39 of them have a travel history to Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Ajmer, Rajasthan. These cases have been reported from Shikaripura in Shivamogga, Bagalkote, Belagavi and one from Davanagere.
There are three cases reported in Bengaluru Urban—one with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection, another with Influenza like Disease and third in contact with the containment zone in ward 135.
The youngest patient who turned positive by Sunday noon is a 3-year-old boy from Belagavi who had a travel history to Ajmer.
With this, a total of 847 positive cases in the state have been confirmed. This includes 31 deaths and 405 discharges.
A 56-year-old woman who passed away with a complaint of SARI has been confirmed positive. TOI had reported that the private hospital where she was treated has been sealed.
