From a DIY graduation ceremony to multiple birthday and anniversary celebrations, this week was a busy one for the stars. Missed it all? Catch up now!
India has been in a state of lockdown for two months now, and the one thing that continues to hold us together is hope… and social media. From new on coronavirus to entertaining memes, the internet serves all, and for Bollywood fans, there's no lack of fun updates from the stars. This week started off with an at-home salon session at Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence. The star shared a snapshot of her husband, Saif Ali Khan, giving their son Taimur Ali Khan a quick trim at home, which immediately made it to several fan pages.
As the week continued, the Bachchans celebrated a big milestone in their family: Navya Naveli Nanda's graduation. Though the 23-year-old's official ceremony in New York was cancelled due to COVID-19, mom Shweta Bachchan Nanda made it a point to host a sweet DIY graduation for her daughter in Jalsa's backyard, completed with chart paper hat and hand-stitched gown. Proud grandfather Amitabh Bachchan shared a post on the occasion with a heartfelt message too.
On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took to her social media page to share a special artwork by daughter Aaradhya Bachchan that paid tribute to the policemen, doctors, nurses, janitors, journalists and teachers working on the front lines during the pandemic. Through her artwork, Aaradhya also asked people to stay at home and help flatten the curve. Look close and you'll also spot a little sketch that shows Aaradhya standing between her parents in the illustration below.
This week also saw multiple celebrations among celebrities. On May 8, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja brought in her second wedding anniversary by sharing a never-seen-before snapshot of herself with husband Anand Ahuja. The Bollywood actor posted the couple's very first selfie with the caption, “Thank you for being my partner and standing besides me for these 4 years. They have been my most fulfilling. Happy happy anniversary husband.”
And that's not all. While Varun Dhawan wished longtime beau Natasha Dalal a happy birthday with a sweet throwback picture from a tropical holiday, the royal family celebrated not one, but two birthdays this week. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked Princess Charlotte's big day by releasing four new portraits of their daughter young clicked by Kate Middleton, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor's first birthday, parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released an adorable video of their toddler enjoyed a dramatic reading of the book, Duck! Rabbit!. Grammy-winning musician Adele also celebrated her birthday this week, and spent her special day at home with family.
