Mahatashtra: Citizens misuse essential services passes to buy liquor from Rasayani in Panvel

NAVI MUMBAI: The Rasayani police inspector Sujata Tanawade has informed that many citizens are misusing their essential services passes in order to buy liquor from this area in Panvel taluka. She said, "Large number of people from Navi Mumbai and Mumbai turned up at Rasayani for buying liquor, wine, etc. Essential services passes are being used for travel from Panvel to Rasayani via Savla, Apta and Mohopada villages. Police surveillance on all these possible village routes have been intensified."
Tanawade further stated: "Wine shops located at Chambharli and Mohopada villages are currently open. Police is monitoring social distancing outside these liquor wine shops."
Tanawade added, "A total of 53 persons have been penalized under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, for violating traffic rules, illegal parking outside liquor shops, etc on Saturday. Collective penalty amount of Rs 16000 has been collected."
