More cases emerge in bungalow schemes, posh residencies in the city ; 269 new cases and 20 deaths reported on Sat; Maninagar corporator Ramesh Patel, too, positive
Covid seems to have spread its tentacles wider and deeper into posh societies of the city, as indicated by the list of positive patients released by theAhmedabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday. The city reported 269 cases on Saturday and 20 deaths, taking the total so far to 5,436. Another 11cases were reported from Ahmedabad (Rural).
Two cases were reported from Rushabh Elegance in Paldi, while one each was reported from Goyal Plaza in Judges Bungalow area, Sun Residency near Mansi Circle, Das Bungalows and New Alkapuri in Ambawadi, A One Bungalows in Chandkheda, Deepali Bungalows near Ellisbridge, Shivanand Flats and Radha Apartment, Satellite; Godrej Garden City in Chandkheda; Kirti Bungalows in Chandlodia; Kasturi 3 in Thaltej and Swagat Residency in Motera.
In a positive development, 200 persons were discharged from Samras hostel.
Among those who tested positive on Saturday was Maninagar corporator Ramesh Patel. He had been moving around in his ward to monitor the situation and had even met several people.
Besides, a policer personnel, an SRP jawan and an inmate of Sabarmati jail tested positive.
Maximum cases were reported fromBehrampura , which saw 14 new cases. Meghaninagar reported 13 new cases while Maninagar and Gomtipur reported 10 cases each.

Atotal of 41super spreaders tested positive on Saturday, of which 25 were from different water works in Ahmedabad—8 from Gyaspur, 13 from Dudheshwar, 2 from Raska and 2 Kotarpur. As many as 11 were from Vejalpur, including 5 vegetable vendors, two from kirana stores, one from medical store s and three others.

Four days after announcing that he was isolating himself over concerns of Covid infection, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra tweeted on Saturday that he had tested negative and would rejoin the fight against Covid-19 soon. On May 5, Nehra had announced on Twitter that he would remain in self-quarantine as he had come in contact with persons who had tested positive.
12 more pvt hospitals to treat Covid patients
Twelve more private hospitals have been desginaged as Covid hospitals on Saturday.
These include AIMS hospital in Paldi, Shrey Hospital andNidhi Multispeciality Hospital in Navrangpura, Global Hospital on Sindhu Bhavan Road, Solar Hospital in Naranpura, Rudraksh Hospital in Naroda, Karnavati Hospital in Saijpur, Saraswati hospital and Bopal ICU and Trauma Centre in Bopal, Ratan Hospital in Isanpur, Spandan Hospital in Vastral and Stavya Spine Hospital near Gujarat College.
