Lucknow: Rs 5,000 fine, FIR for throwing used masks

Lucknow: Lucknow Municipal Corporation will impose a monetary penalty of Rs 5,000 or might even lodge an FIR against any individual found throwing used face masks or hand gloves in the open.
Twelve sanitation teams headed by sanitary inspectors for conducting sanitization drives in the city have been given the responsibility to catch violators throwing used face masks and hand gloves.
Municipal commissioner Indramani Tripathi said, "People should keep used masks or hand gloves inside a cloth or polythene bag before either dumping it in dumpsters or give them to sanitary workers coming to collect daily household garbage."
