Share market update: Bank shares gain; ICICI Bank rises 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Friday's session.

Shares of ICICI Bank (up 3.67 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 2.71 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 2.69 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.55 per cent), Federal Bank (up 1.16 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 0.72 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.59 per cent), Bandhan Bank (up 0.44 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.68 per cent up at 19819.55 around 11:53AM .

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 137.20 points at 9336.25 , while the BSE Sensex was up 502.66 points at 31946.04 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RBL Bank Ltd., RIL, ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, BHEL, SBI, Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
