2020 Kia Mohave ‘Gravity’ Is The New KDM Range-Topper With New Grille, Other Upgrades

Last year, Kia unveiled a second facelift for the Mohave body-on-frame SUV in Korea, a very substantial one at that.

Now, the Korean carmaker has released a high-end model for the local market only (for now, at least) called Mohave Gravity. Based on the Masters top-level trim, the special edition model brings several enhancements inside and out.

The most noticeable change on the outside is the black radiator grille which also gets different inserts instead of the chrome vertical bars found on lesser models. According to Kia, the new black radiator grille is inspired by arrowheads and makes the DRLs and Mohave badge stand out more.

The Kia Mohave Gravity also features black-painted 20-inch wheels matching the updated grille. Kia says the six-spoke rims emulate the shape of a snowflake crystal.

Moving on to the interior, which was redesigned for 2020, the Gravity package rather unexpectedly brings an Alcantara upgrade. The soft material covers the steering wheel rim, center console armrest, door armrests, and the center door panel. Additionally, mood lighting has been extended to the front door panels as well. Convenience upgrades include the introduction of a new cup holder on the second row of Mohave six-seat models, with the headrests also gaining increased lateral support.

No changes take place in the powertrain department as the Kia Mohave Gravity features the same 3.0-liter turbodiesel producing 256 HP (260 PS / 191 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. The engine is mated to a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The Kia Mohave Gravity went on sale in Korea on May 7 with prices starting at 55,500,000 won ($45,500) for the five-seat variant. Six- and seven-seat models are also available.
