The declared lockdown caused by the coronavirus is having a very bad effect on the country's economy. At the same time, people have also faced many kinds of problems. Meanwhile, the Narendra Modi government at the center has taken a step to provide great relief to the poor people of the country.


The central government has increased the MGNREGA wages by Rs 20 from April 1, 2020, under the PM Garib Kalyan package. With this step of the government, MNREGA workers will get an additional annual benefit of two thousand rupees.

According to the notification issued in this regard by the Union Finance Ministry, MNREGA workers will be able to get this increased amount from April 1, 2020. This step of the Narendra Modi government will benefit 13.62 crore families working under MNREGA.

Significantly, due to corona infection in the country, the central government has extended the lockdown period to 17 May. Right now the lockdown can be extended further due to the way corona cases are increasing.
