Jerry Seinfeld Is Likely Done With Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee

While promoting his newest stand-up special, ‘Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill’, the iconic comedian/car enthusiast also talked about what the future might hold for his other Netflix venture, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Unfortunately, after doing more than 80 episodes, it sounds like Seinfeld might not be willing to keep putting in the work for this type of format, reports Variety.

“We haven’t planned anything with that show. I kind of feel like I did that tour,” he explained. “I know they look very casual and easy, but they’re actually kind of a lot of work: The editing is very intense. And I feel like I may have done that exploration, at this point.”

Despite throwing around the terms “kind of” and “may have”, it’s not that difficult to read between the lines here, especially when we look back at history. Back in 1998, Jerry Seinfeld decided to pull the plug on his ultra-popular NBC show despite ratings still being high – so he’s definitely no stranger to not overstaying his welcome.

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premiered on July 19, 2012 and has since run through 11 seasons for a total of 84 episodes. The format was always going to be pretty simple, given the name of the program.

Over the years, many classic models have made an appearance on the show, from a 1970 Dodge Challenger, to various old Porsches and Italian exotics. It wasn’t until season 9 that newer cars started making an appearance, such as the current Acura NSX in s9 ep6, a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT in s11 ep1, 2018 Rolls-Royce Dawn in s11 ep3/4 and a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante in s11 ep5.
