Six city hospitals to provide 600 beds for isolation

Gurgaon: Six major hospitals in the city will provide 100 isolation beds each to be used exclusively for Covid-19. They have been allotted by the district administration to the health department to deal with the rising number of cases in Gurgaon.
The six hospitals are Metro Hospital, Narayana Hospital, Signature Hospital, Columbia Asia, W Pratiksha and Park Hospital. The district magistrate has acquired them under the Movable and Immovable Property Act, 1973.
Gurgaon chief medical officer JS Punia said technical problems had delayed resumption of operations at Medeor Hospital in Manesar, which has been designated as a Covid hospital, due to which the health department put forward its requirement of 600 isolation beds to the administration. “We needed additional beds and manpower to deal with the rising number of cases. These six hospitals will provide us 100 beds each along with their staff. The decision has been made taking the current situation into account,” said Punia.
While Metro Hospital in Palam Vihar has 150 beds, W Pratiksha in Sector 56, Sushant Lok-2, has 100 and Columbia Asia, also in Palam Vihar, has about 90 beds.
Park Hospital on Sohna Road in Sector 47 has 250 beds, about 100 doctors and more than 300 paramedical staff. Narayana Hospital in Palam Vihar has already started video consultation services.
The 125-bed ESIC Hospital in Sector 9-A is the only designated Covid hospital in the district so far.
