Mumbai: Despite all efforts of the central and state government, the coronavirus crisis is not seen to decrease. The latest case is from Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, where a 50-year-old undertrial prisoner was found corona positive on Wednesday. After which he has been admitted to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. This is the first case in Maharashtra when an inmate has been found infected with corona inside the jail.

Let us tell you that the Bombay High Court had recently asked the Maharashtra Government whether there is any prisoner inside the jail who is infected with the coronavirus. In such a situation, the jail administration has become cautious after meeting a corona-infected prisoner in jail. As a precaution, the jail administration conducted a corona test of over 150 people, including prisoners and other jail staff.

There are currently more than 2000 prisoners living in jail with a capacity of 800 people. A corona patient found inside the jail can prove to be dangerous for the jail administration as well as the state in the coming days. Meeting Corona's patient in Arthur Road Jail is also worrying because in this prison there are many criminals belonging to the underworld along with ordinary prisoners.
