The chief minister said in his daily news conference that the department has chalked out a roadmap for the conduct of school examinations that were postponed owing to the lockdown. The department, he said, was planning to start the answer paper valuation of examinations that were held before the lockdown on May 13.
The CM said the general education department would telecast education conduct via Victers channel from June 1 onwards if the school reopening gets extended owing to the emergencies relating to Covid-19.
The education content for school students would also be made available on web and mobile platforms. If a small number of students would find it difficult to access the content over any of the devices, government would address the same separately, he added.
Sources in the general education department said the plan presented to the high-level committee recommended the government to conduct the remaining three examinations of SSLC in one go from May 26, 27 and 28. VHSE examinations for which the lower number of students appear would be conducted in the first days starting from May 21.
Plus Two examinations are expected to be held from May 26 to 29. All the arrangements are provisional and could change according to the permissions and restrictions being announced by the state and Union governments, department sources said.
KTU promises timely decision
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University said it would soon announce the new dates for the conduct of pending examinations. Varsity vice-chancellor M S Rajasree said the academic council would consider the recommendations of UGC and AICTE to come to a conclusion on the examinations. Priority would be given to final year exams, she said.
