BENGALURU: The state government has decided to quarantine all those who plan to return from other states to
Karnataka in the next few days. While those with symptoms will be quarantined in hospitals, those who are asymptomatic will be quarantined in schools in case of rural areas and will be home quarantined in urban areas.
About 38,000 people have registered with the government’s
Seva Sindhu platform asking permission to return. Of these, the majority are from
Maharashtra (8,463) that has turned out to be a major
Covid hotspot.
Returnees will be marked with indelible ink stamp on the left hand, says the standard operating procedure issued by the
health department.
The state, on Wednesday, reported 20 positive cases of Covid-19 taking the tally to 693. Most of the cases are from Bagalkot (13), followed by Dakshina Kannada (3) and Bengaluru city (2).
