While Surajpur police booked five people, Dankaur police registered FIRs against 11 others.
Surajpur police said the accused went to Bulandshahr after attending the meet. “When Section 144 was levied in the district, they returned to their village in Begumpur and roamed around together. When information was sought about Jamaat attendees, these persons hid it deliberately and did not go into quarantine,” reads the FIR lodged under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act.
Surajpur SHO Pradeep Tripathi said the accused were produced before court on Tuesday and granted bail.
Meanwhile, the Dankaur police booked 10 men from Atta Fatehpur village and one from Unchi Dankaur village under sections 188, 269, 270 and 51 of the Disaster Management Act and Section 3 of the Epidemic Act.
Till now, 51 TJ members have been booked for lockdown violations.
