The army took revenge after the martyrdom of its brave soldiers in Handwara. The local commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Riyaz Naiku was killed in an encounter that lasted for nearly 12 hours till Wednesday afternoon in the Begpora village of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. The army blew up Naiku and his fellow terrorist hiding in the tunnel with a 40 kg IED blast.
The 12 lakh prize was included in the A + Plus category of Naiku Most Wanted Terrorists. Apart from this, two more terrorists have also been killed in another encounter in Sarsali village of Pulwama. This is considered to be a great success in security forces. The security forces involved in the operation claim that with the elimination of the enemy of humanity, Naiku, and his companions, South Kashmir is almost free from terrorism.
Actually, 35-year-old Naiku was looking for the past eight years. After the Handwara attack, the army was behind it for the last three days. The army had received intelligence reports of her hiding in a tunnel with some comrades in Begpora, the village of Naiku in Pulwama. Nayak came to the village to visit his ailing mother and family.
The Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly started the operation at 11 pm on Tuesday night and the encounter with the militants started around 12 pm. There are about 15 houses at this place, from where the citizens were evacuated first.
Finally, when Naiku did not come out till Wednesday morning, the security forces had blown the house under the tunnel under the IED by the security forces. The bodies of Naiku and his companions have been recovered. Meanwhile, mobile and internet service has also been stopped in the valley.
