Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given necessary instructions to the officials to ensure that the farmers of the state do not have to face the problem due to the declared lockdown due to the Coronavirus and unseasonal rains.


CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday held a review meeting on the purchase of MSP through video conference, availability of fertilizer and seeds in Kharif season, locust control, Prime Minister crop insurance, and hailstorm at the Chief Minister's residence on Wednesday.

During this time, the CM has said that the fixed targets for procurement of wheat, mustard, and gram at the minimum support price in the state should be achieved under any circumstances. At the same time, he has instructed the officials to work on such a scheme that the purchase limit on the MSP prescribed for the state can be further increased.

During this period, Ashok Gehlot said that the process of procurement should be expedited by the quick resolution of the problems faced by the coronavirus. Ashok Gehlot said during the meeting that to get the farmers a remunerative price for their produce and to speed up the procurement process on MSP, the state government has allowed more than 1500 processing units to make direct purchases from farmers.

Besides, 592 cooperative societies have been notified as a private secondary market. Apart from this, 93 warehouses of Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation have also been declared private accessory markets. Significantly, 159 new Corona positive cases were found in Rajasthan on Wednesday. With this, the total number of infected in the state has now reached 3317.
