Mumbai: 67-year-old Bhayandar woman dies of Covid-19; seven-month-old tests positive

MUMBAI: A day after a Bhayander man died of Covid-19, another senior citizen from the same locality succumbed to the virus.
The 67-year-old woman was admitted to the Bhimsen Joshi government hospital in Bhayander on Monday for heart ailments. She died and her swab test report came positive on Tuesday.
She was a resident of Shiv Sena gully in Bhayander (west). A 50-year-old man who died on Sunday and tested poster a day later was also a resident of this area.
As of Tuesday evening, nine positive cases were reported from Mira Road and Bhayander. It included a seven-month-old boy, a 23-year-old nurse working at a private hospital in Mumbai and a 55-year-old man employed with the hydraulic department of the Mumbai civic body.
The death toll in the region is five. Twelve persons were discharged on Tuesday. There are 71 active positive cases in the region.
