Coronavirus in Chennai: Eight more personnel at DGP office test positive for Covid-19

CHENNAI: Eight more personnel at the Director General of Police (DGP) office in Chennai have tested positive for Covid-19.
On Friday last, the 77-year-old mother of a ministerial staff at the DGP office died of Covid-19. The ministerial staff, seven members of the family and their house help tested positive. They were undergoing treatment.
On Wednesday, a deputy superintendent of police, an inspector, three sub-inspectors from technical services and three constables tested positive for coronavirus infection. They have been hospitalised.
Following this, disinfectants were sprayed on the DGP premises to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The staff have been advised to take adequate precaution.
