Central government nominates Tarun Bajaj as a director on central board of RBI

The Central Government has nominated Economic Affairs Secretary Tarun Bajaj as Director on the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Yogesh Dayal, the Chief General Manager of the Reserve Bank has given this information.

Earlier, on 1 May, old finance minister Tarun Bajaj of the Ministry of Finance took over as Economic Affairs Secretary. Prior to the post of Secretary, he was also an Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. Bajaj is a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service officer.

The Ministry had tweeted and informed that Tarun Bajaj has taken over as the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs. Before joining the Prime Minister's Office, Bajaj was Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs. He has also served as Joint Secretary and Director in the Department of Financial Services. He was Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services for four years. He had responsibility for the insurance sector
