You don’t need a pass in Gurugram from 7am to 7pm, says VS Kundu

GURUGRAM: To move around the city between 7am and 7pm, residents no longer need a pass. However, the relaxation does not apply to the people living in the containment zones.
Additional chief secretary and GMDA chief VS Kundu said that though there will be no restriction on movement from 7am to 7pm, wearing the mask will be mandatory and social distancing has to be maintained. Night curfew would continue in the district. “Movement between 7pm and 7am will only be allowed in case of emergency,” Kundu said.
The announcement comes after the lockdown was extended till May 17 and residents raised a number of queries on the movement within the district.
Despite having a high number of Covid-19 positive cases, the district is in the orange zone. Though the curbs have been eased, Kundu added that the district administration is not authorised to allow people for inter-district and inter-state movement.
However, in case of an emergency, people can apply for a movement pass on Saral Haryana portal.
In case, Gurugram goes back into the red zone, strict measures will be taken following the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The district administration has also issued guidelines for the residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) in which it stated that residents may take walks if it is necessary i.e. for residents with health conditions, having to walk pets. In order to take walks, protocols such as a single point of entry/exit for all residents through the ground floor only must be followed. The guidelines also state that walking is allowed only with family members, maximum up to two members of a family at a time.
