In the last five days, the Indian Railways has run 70 special trains through which 80,000 stranded migrants, students, and tourists have been sent to their homes. According to the railway official, till Monday, 55 special trains have traveled one way and 30 trains will run on Tuesday.
Initially, this train will run from Bangalore, Surat, Sabarmati, Jalandhar, Kota, and Ernakulam, one thousand passengers will travel on each train. The official said that as long as the governments of the state keep demanding from the railways, such special trains will continue to run.
If sources of the railway are to be believed then more than five hundred trains can be run at this time. Officials say that there is no problem in buying a passenger ticket in a train running to and from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
According to the information given by the railway official, the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh said that they will buy tickets for migrant laborers whether they are going or coming, whereas Jharkhand and Bihar have said that they will only Only the passengers coming will buy their tickets.
At the same time, Andhra Pradesh has said to buy tickets for migrant laborers going out of the state. Gujarat and Telangana will also buy tickets for migrant laborers who are going to their homes or other states.
Railway official said that all these states are from where maximum migrant laborers are going and also being brought, in such a situation it becomes important to run these special trains. The official said that there may be some states that do not buy tickets for migrant laborers or the welcoming state refuses to pay, so there is hope that a solution to the problem will be found.
