In Gzb, 3-day-old girl tests positive

Ghaziabad: Eight persons including a three-day-old child tested positive for Covid-19 in Ghaziabad on Tuesday. The total number of cases in the district now stands at 104.
A pregnant woman from Dasna was brought to District Women’s Hospital on May 1 but was referred to Meerut Medical College because of her symptoms. After the report of the woman came positive, samples of her baby, husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law were sent for examination. The child, a girl, was found to be positive.
Meanwhile, the wife and son of a Roadways ARM from Aligarh living in Ghaziabad’s Modinagar have also been found Covid positive. The ARM and his two children had alreay tested positive.
The disease has also been confirmed in two persons suffering from kidney failure from Pratap Vihar and Shalimar Garden. Both of them have been admitted to LNJP hospital in Delhi.
A pregnant woman from Bhopura, a 66-year-old woman from Vijay Nagar and a 50-year-old woman from Ramprastha have also been tested positive.
The pregnant woman from Bhopura has been referred to Meerut Medical College. The 66 –year-old woman from Vijay Nagar had got her test done from a private lab and undergoing treatment. T
he 50-year-old woman from Ramprastha has been admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Delhi. She had gone there for some other treatment and tested positive there.
The man from Khoda who had died at a Noida hospital two days back has also been added to Ghaziabad’s tally.
Moreover, a woman from Columbia living in a highrise society in Mohan Nagar, have also been found to be infected. However, she has not been added to Ghaziabad’s tally yet.
The foreign national was in contact with a doctor’s son. She had got her test done at a private lab. She has been admitted to ESIC hospital.
Meanwhile, officials informed that Punjab National Bank’s Loni branch has been sealed since April 27 after an employee from Mohan Nagar tested positive. So far, the employee’s wife and son and two other staff, including the bank branch manager and security staff, have tested positive.
Covid-19 was confirmed in the bank’s employee’s wife and son on Monday.
Since the start of the month, 38 patients have been added to Ghaziabad’s tally. In view of this, district magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said he has taken up an initiative under which he calls up patients and counsels them.
