THANE: Residents in the city are complaining of complete lack of communication from the corporation about the ground realities of Covid-19 matters.
Residents and activists from Thane have been complaining of either delayed or inadequate information about various stages of the virus contamination and ongoing measures taken by the administration. Basic data like daily updation of containment zones in parts of the city and even number of tests done are not been brought before the public.
"It is not as if I want to venture out but it always is beneficial to know the status of my area and whether it has been declared a conatinment zone or not. People will be more wary and refrain from venturing out in such situations," said D Sampat, a resident.
Sanjeev Datta, a resident of Kharkar Aali complained that the administration wasn't revealing the number of tests conducted daily even though it alerted about positive cases. "What is the rationale behind the secrecy maintained by the administration in publishing this info in public domain that can instead help them take adequate care if there's any zone in their vicinity," he said.
When contacted, municipal commissioner, Vijay Singhal, said that they would soon upload the data on a public platform soon.
