In what is likely to be one of the most bizarre stories you've ever read, a five-year-old United States boy was pulled over on a highway by Utah trooper Rick Morgan, according to the state's highway patrol Twitter account

Initially, the trooper thought the driver was impaired as the car drifted across lanes in dash-cam footage supplied by the police.

But that wasn't the case, and the trooper was in for a big surprise when he made his to the driver's window. "How old are you? You're five years old?" Trooper Rick Morgan says in the video. "Wow ... Where did you learn to drive a car?"

The boy was driving his parents' car and told the trooper he had left home after a tiff with his mother. According to him, she denied his request to buy him a Lamborghini.

But the youngster wouldn't let that deter him from buying his Italian dream supercar, so he hopped into his mom's Dodge Journey and drove onto the highway towards California, to find a Lamborghini dealership.

With the five-year-old's dreams of buying a supercar shattered, to add insult to injury he had a measly $3 (or R55) in his wallet.

The starting price for a new Lamborghini in SA is more than R5-million.
