NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea with over 5.59 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Tuesday.
Shares of Uttam Value Steel (number of shares traded: 2.63 crore), BHEL (number of shares traded: 2.07 crore), Reliance Comm (number of shares traded: 1.82 crore), Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.98 crore), ONGC (number of shares traded: 0.82 crore),
Axis Bank (number of shares traded: 0.71 crore), SBI (number of shares traded: 0.57 crore), ICICI Bank (number of shares traded: 0.53 crore) and Vedanta (number of shares traded: 0.52 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
RIL (Rs 358.54 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.
It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs 293.53 crore), Bajaj Finance (Rs 284.97 crore), Bharti Airtel (Rs 275.30 crore), HDFC (Rs 206.61 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 198.50 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 183.83 crore), Marico (Rs 141.02 crore), IndusInd Bank (Rs 109.52 crore) and Cipla (Rs 104.34 crore)
The NSE Nifty index was trading 114.05 points up at 9407.55 , while BSE Sensex was up 383.85 points at 32099.2 around 09:38AM.
In the Nifty index, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (up 6.73 per cent), Zee Entertainment Enterprises (up 3.38 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 3.08 per cent), UPL (up 3.04 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (up 2.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Titan Company (down 1.44 per cent), Asian Paints (down 1.33 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 0.89 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.35 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers.
