Doctor booked for sex assault on Covid-19 man in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A 34-year-old doctor from a hospital in south Mumbai has been booked for sexual assault on a 44-year-old Covid-positive male patient in the hospital’s intensive care unit on Friday morning.
The 34-year-old accused doctor had joined the hospital, located near the Agripada police station, on April 30.
The doctor, an MD, worked only for a day. The doctor entered the patient’s room and made physical advances to the patient who raised an alarm. He later told hospital staffers about the assault. While the the doctor has been sacked, he has not been arrested as he had come in contact with the patient. He will be in quarantine at his Thane home for two weeks.
