Since the central government has announced the opening of liquor shops, people have been gathering in huge masses to get alcohol which is increasing the risk of spreading the virus.

The central government has allowed liquor sale across the country as per today. The government said that only single store sellers like stand-alone shops are allowed to sell liquor. All other liquor shops and stores in malls will remain closed. But this has led to people gathering outside wine shops in huge numbers increasing the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. To curb this gathering of huge masses outside liquor shops, the Chhattisgarh government has come up a website and a phone application which is letting residents order alcohol and get it delivered to their home.

To enable this service, liquor shops in Chhattisgarh have to link themselves with the state-run website of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited (CSMCL). The customers then have to register via Aadhar number and mobile number and then place the order. The verification will be done by an OTP.

Two districts of Chhattisgarh, Raipur and Korba are under red and orange zones respectively. Leaving these two districts, rest all are functional under the home delivery of alcohol service.

The effectiveness of this new system will be noticed only in a couple of days, for now, it's only been a while since their implementation. In the initial days, a lot of rush will be seen, but things will get back to normal in a couple of days.
