HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old police constable committed suicide by hanging himself inside his bedroom in a drunken condition on Monday. The incident happened in
Amberpet limits.
The victim was identified as
U Balaraju, a resident of Prem Nagar in Amberpet and worked in CAR headquarters in Petla Burj.
According to police, the constable was addicted to alcohol. On Sunday and Monday, he managed to arrange liquor. "He drank both days. On Monday after consuming alcohol, he went to his bedroom and locked the room from outside," said Amberpet inspector,
B Mohan Kumar.
According to the police, the family repeatedly knocked on the door when there was no response, they broke open the door and found Balraj hanging.
The police suspect, the constable took the extreme step after facing family problems, however, no suicide note was found. "He was rushed to
Osmania General Hospital, but he has declared brought dead. He was staying with his wife and one daughter," added the inspector.
Following this, a case of suspicious death case was registered.
