Kalyan-Dombivli civic body to ban entry of people working in essential services in Mumbai

KALYAN: To curb the rising cases of Covid-19 in the twin city, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has decided to ban entery of people working in essential services sector in government and private firms in Mumbai and residing in the region from May 8.
So far, 73 people, who are working in Mumbai, have been tested positive for the infection while they have infected 28 others, taking their tally to 101 out of the total 224 patients in the region.
KDMC have asked such people to provide their details to KDMC and to stay in Mumbai failing which they will be not allowed to enter or exit the region.
Earlier, Navi Mumbai mayor J D Suttar had also made similar demand to ban entery of people working in Mumbai and residing in Navi Mumbai.
