*With neighbourhood shops and liquor stores open and people and vehicles allowed to move without pass between 7am and 7pm in 177 of the 198 wards, nearly 90% of Bengaluru will limp towards normalcy from Monday. However, malls, cinema halls, barber shops and markets (barring essential goods) continue to remain closed.
*Tension prevailed at a Namma Metro labour colony in Bommanahalli on Sunday, after workers demanded contractors pay them their wages and allow them to return to their hometowns.
*Karnataka decided to offer free travel for migrants heading home within the state on KSRTC buses after its decision to charge a fare invited huge criticism and the Congress produced two cheques of Rs 1 crore each to say it’s willing to pick up the labourers’ commute bill.
*Quarantine bands, 3-D printed face shields and ventilator valves, compressor-based ventilators, a tool to locate the nearest kirana store, fever clinic, night shelter and free food distribution centre, an e-puja hosting platform — these are just a few of the products that firms from IIMB’s (Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore) startup hub have created during the lockdown.
