Vehicle check to be beefed up from today

Coimbatore: The city and rural police will intensify vehicle checking at the 11 inter-district borders from Monday.
“We would ensure that people wear face mask and maintain social distancing. We plan to sensitize the public by our officers. Without face mask people should not come out on the streets. We will continue the random vehicle check at the 33 check points in the city,” city police commissioner Sumit Sharan said.
Sujit Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore district, said as many as 11 inter-district borders were tightened. “Instead of booking many cases, we will sensitize the people about social distancing and wearing face mask,” Sumit Kumar said. tnn
