MUMBAI: In response to the appeal made by MSEDCL, 3.6 lakh consumers across the state sent their April month meter reading by taking self meter reading and uploading it through portal or mobile app. The electricity bills of these consumers were given based on their usage while other consumers got bills on average basis of past few months.
Pune had maximum self meter reading from 69,912 consumers followed by Kalyan zone with 58,210 consumers, an official said.
"The consumers who were unable to send their meter reading are given average bills. These consumers will be given accurate bills according to their usage, once the meter readers start visiting the premises post Lockdown,'' said MSEDCL chief spokesperson Anil Kamble.
