Couple among three booked for entering Dang from Maharashtra

SURAT: At least three persons including a couple were booked including a couple in Sapurata police station of Dang for entering the district from neighbouring Maharashtra violating lockdown rules.
According to police, a complaint has been lodged against Ulashya Pavar, 50, a resident of Vanar village of Ahwa taluka of Dang district and his wife Seeta Pavar under various sections of the Disaster Management Act.
“When we were on patrolling near Vanar village we found two persons walking on road and enquired about them. They told us that they had gone to Maharashtra’s Vadner village to work as agricultural labourer but after the lockdown, they had not work and were returning to their native village near Ahwa,’’ Police said.
Police said that the couple entered into Dang district from Maharashtra’s Kanchaghat on foot via forest route.
In second case, Saputara police booked Suraj Khairad, 43, a resident of Baripada village of Vaghai taluka of Dang district, for entering into Dang district from Maharashtra via forest route. He had gone to work as agricultural labourer but left with no work due to lockdown and was returning to his native village.
Over 25 FIRs have been filed against those people who have entered into Dang district from Maharashtra in last few weeks.
Dang district has so far reported three Covid-19 positive cases.
