NOIDA: Two secondary contacts of people in the Cease Fire cluster tested positive for Covid-19. They were among eight fresh cases reported on Sunday, which took the district’s total to 167.
A 50-year-old man from Sector 10 and a 20-year-old woman from Sector 8 were linked to the Cease Fire chain. A 40-year-old woman from Sector 30 also tested positive.
Five others were also secondary contacts of those who had tested positive earlier and from villages in Noida and Greater Noida — a 31-year-old and a 38-year-old from Mamura, a 31-year-old from Nithari, a 24-year-old from Khandera and a 43-year-old from Nat Madaiya, all men. The Dadri sub-divisional magistrate ordered that the Khandera and Nat Madaiya villages be sealed. A containment team was sent and a sanitisation drive begun.
Chief medical officer Deepak Ohri said the containment team will go door-to-door to survey each resident. “Relatives and contacts of both the persons found infected from the two villages in Greater Noida have been quarantined,” said Dr Ohri.
