Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked officials to prepare enough quarantine centres/shelter homes to accommodate 15-20lakh migrants who are expected to reach UP during the third phase of lockdown which comes into force from Monday.
Presiding over a review meeting at his official residence, the CM directed the district magistrates, senior superintendents of police and chief medical officers to inspect quarantine centres, shelter homes and
community kitchens.
The process of bringing in migrants by train started on Sunday with one train from Nashik and two trains from Gujarat reaching
Uttar Pradesh. Three trains from
Maharashtra are expected to reach the state on Monday.
During the meeting, Yogi emphasized on screening of migrant labourers at quarantine centres and said they should be provided food packets before being sent for home quarantine.
“If any migrant shows symptoms of Covid-19, he should be kept in isolation ward,” the CM said.
He also asked director general of police (DGP) HC Awasthi to ensure that security pensonnel do not get infected by
coronavirus and said enough protection kits should be arranged for them.
Yogi also stressed on the need for deployment of master trainers for training of principals of various schools and colleges.
“Supply of personal protection equipment (PPE) kits, N95 masks and sanitizers should also be maintained and the capacity of Covid hospitals (level 1, 2 and 3) should be increased,” Yogi said.
The CM also laid stress on deployment of self-help groups (SHGs) in community kitchens in rural areas. “This would help in generating employment in rural areas,” he said.
Yogi emphasized on the use of RuPay cards by Jan Dhan account holders to prevent crowding in banks.
